Julia (Jules) Ferguson
I'm Jules and I'm an undergrad at University of Toronto specializing in psychology and minoring in biology. I am interested primarily in sexuality research related to sexual functioning, education, stigma, consent and coercion. My articles often emphasize shortcomings in sexual health care and barriers faced by queer communities, women, and sexual violence survivors. In my free time I enjoy portrait photography, cooking and travel!

Zaeen Iqbal
I'm Zaeen and I'm an undergrad at the University of Toronto double majoring in political science and psychology, with a minor in biology. I'm primarily interested in the study of global health governance and political economies. I enjoy learning about how different forms of governance promote (or harm) individuals access to healthcare and medical services, and how we can fix less-than-perfect systems. In my free time, I love to watch sci-fi or horror movies, read crime novels, and paint.

Writer + PR Assistant
Dalainey Gervais
My name is Dalainey and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, studying Linguistics and Anthropology. My interests in health lie in societal understandings of healthcare and its implications in minority groups. With THEP, I hope to emphasize the need for a modernized healthcare system that is accessible to all. When I’m not writing, you can often find me reading, baking or working on a new yarn project!

Writer
Nardeen Oweis
Hi! My name is Nardeen Oweis and I am currently enrolled in the forensic psychology specialist program at UTM. I am particularly interested in writing about the mental health disparities that exist both globally and locally. The importance of mental health on physical health is often understated or minimized when their relationship is highly interconnected. Uncovering these connections is the first step to reducing the mental health stigma that exists worldwide.

In my free time I enjoy reading, drawing and discovering new places!

Writer
Maria Mian
Hello! I'm Maria Mian and I'm an undergraduate Life Sciences student at the University of Toronto. As I was born and raised in Toronto, access to healthcare has always been an privilege. Unfortunately, this is not the case for millions of global citizens who die each year due to preventable diseases as a result of limited access to healthcare and medical services. The division in healthcare availability led me to develop a passion for Global Health as I believe access to healthcare should be a basic human right for all. I am primarily interested in studying the patterns and causes of diseases across the globe to help prevent, control and eradicate illness. By joining THEP I aim to write informative articles to educate people on worldwide health inequities. By raising awareness and sharing information on both local and international health issues, we as a global community, will be one step closer to a happy, healthy world!
